ISIS blitz | Three officers of special forces backed by Russians killed in Syrian desert
SOHR activists have documented the death of three officers of Russian-backed “25th special forces Division” by a landmine explosion and an ISIS blitz on their position in the vicinity of Al-Sa’an area in eastern Hama countryside in the Syrian desert.
Accordingly, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2022 has increased to 306; and they are as follows:
• 140 ISIS members were killed in Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the deserts of Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, Al-Raqqah, Deir Ezzor and Aleppo.
• 166 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including three Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen, were killed in 61 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.
• A civilian was killed in an attack by ISIS in the Syrian desert.
