Iranian-held areas | Explosions rock Deir Ezzor countryside near Syria-Iraq border amid flight by unknown aircraft

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported hearing explosions in areas controlled by Iranian-backed militias in Al-Dweir and Al-Abbas areas in Al-Bo Kamal near Syria-Iraq border.

It is worthy noting that these areas hosting military positions of Iranian-backed militias.

These explosions have coincided with the flight of unidentified aircraft over the area.

This comes amid reports of the arrival of a shipment of weapons in Syrian territory.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported hearing explosions in the vicinity of Al-Haidariyah, where Iranian-backed militia headquarters are located in Al-Mayadeen area in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

According to SOHR activists, three explosions were heard, believed to be due to the explosions of weapons depots of Iranian-backed militias, while investigations are ongoing.

On September 12, SOHR activists, in Al-Mayadeen “Iranian colony” in west Euphrates region, reported that Iranian-backed militias, especially non-Syrian ones, ordered their members to dramatically limit their movements in Al-Mayadeen city for fear of possible attack.

According to SOHR sources, militiamen left their headquarters and bases only when necessary and take their caution, for fear of assassinations.
