SOHR activists have reported that rescue teams are still looking for dozens of missing people, following the capsizing of a boat in the area opposite to the Syrian Jazirat Arwad (Arwad Island), where the rescue teams recovered the bodies of 26 people, who died drowning, including two women and three children, and rescued eight others. The fate of nearly 100 more people remains unknown.

A few hours ago, SOHR activists reported that a boat capsized within Syrian waters in the area opposite to Jazirat Awrad (Awrad Island) in Tartous. Meanwhile, the rescue teams found 15 dead bodies and eight survivors, who were moved to Tartous’ hospitals.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the boat set off from Tarablus in Lebanon a few days ago for migration, and it carried people of several nationalities.
