IED explosion | Commander of military formation of Russian-backed 25th Division “Special Forces” dies in his house

Hama province: SOHR activists have documented the death of “Youssef Badie Shahin” known as “Abo Haidar”, the commander of Al-Shahin groups of the Russian-backed 25th Division “Special Forces”, which is led by Brigadier General Suhail Al-Hassan known as “Al-Namr” (Tiger).

According to reliable SOHR sources, “Shahin” was killed in an IED explosion in his house, which is located in Misyaf city in western Hama countryside.

Sources in Misyaf city added that he was assassinated due to disputes inside the 25th Division “Special Forces.”

The Russian-backed 25 “Special Missions” Division continues fighting on the side of the Russian forces, after Russia instructed to train and send thousands of members to Russia to conduct training courses and actively participate in combat operations in the Russian war against Ukraine.

On September 21, SOHR’s sources inside the Russian-backed 25th Division “Special Operations”, which is led by Brigadier General Suhail Al-Hassan known as “Al-Namr” (Tiger), reported that hundreds of the division’s members, who have been in Ukraine for months, started participating in the fighting operations led by Russia against Ukraine.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the members started participating in the military operations within areas held by Russia in eastern of Ukraine, after they were moved from Syria to Russia through “Hamimim” Airport, and received military exercises during the past months. Moreover, many of them talk Russian after undergoing military courses in Russia last year before the start of the Russian military operations in Ukraine.
