Military drills | IRGC provides military exercise for 100 fighters in Al-Mayadeen
Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that Iranian Revolutionary Guards has conducted military exercises at their military camp in Mazarea’ Al-Haidariyah, Ain Ali shrine and Mazarea’ Issa in Al-Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The military drills are provided for nearly 100 Iranian-backed militiamen of Al-Sayyida Zaynab regiment, the Special Forces Regiment and the 47th Regiment, after a Lebanese commander of the militia arrived in Al-Mayadeen.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that Iranian militias in Deir Ezzor were preparing to launch exercise courses for members of regiments in different areas controlled by Iranian militias, in light of increasing Iranian presence for any potential attack.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the exercises are schedule to be held tomorrow in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards camp in Al-Mazarae area southern of Al-Mayadin in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. 25 members of Al-Sayda Zainab regiment, Special Forces regiment and the 47th regiment will participate in the exercises.
Earlier yesterday, SOHR activists reported that in the last 48 hours, SOHR activists monitored intensive movements of Iranian-backed militias and their leaders in the colony of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and their backed militias in Al-Mayadeen city.
This came after the Iranian-backed militias limited their movement and their military vehicles have not been seen for nearly 10 days, for fear of renewed attacks by “International Coalition” on their positions and missile platforms directed towards “international coalition” bases in Deir Ezzor.
According to SOHR sources, Iranian-backed militias transported artillery and heavy vehicles from Al-Esha’arah area in Al-Mayadeen to Deir Ezzor and Al-Raqqah.
Military activity in areas controlled by Iranian-backed militia returned and resumed as it was before the recent “International Coalition” strikes in late August 2022.
On September 12, SOHR activists, in Al-Mayadeen “Iranian colony” in west Euphrates region, reported that Iranian-backed militias, especially non-Syrian ones, ordered their members to dramatically limit their movements in Al-Mayadeen city for fear of possible attack.
According to SOHR sources, militiamen left their headquarters and bases only when necessary and take their caution, for fear of assassinations.
