“De-escalation zone” | Russian fighter jet strikes positions near frontlines in southern Idlib

SOHR sources have reported that a Russian fighter jet fired vacuum missiles on the surrounding areas of Al-Ruwayha village near the frontlines between regime forces and opposition factions in the southern countryside of Idlib. This coincided with regime bombardment on the same frontline, amid frequent flights by reconnaissance drones over the area. The Russian strikes left no casualties, but no further details have been reported yet about the material damage caused by the attack.

On September 28, SOHR activists reported that Russian fighter jets executed at least three airstrikes on positions in Bab Al-Hawa area and the surrounding areas of Sarmada on the Syria border with Iskenderun region, north of Idlib. It is worth noting that the targeted areas host a large number of refugee camps and host headquarters of Jayish Al-Izzah faction.
