Ongoing violations | Factions sell civilians’ houses and fell 500 olive trees in Afrin

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that “National Army” factions sold four houses in Afrin city for prices ranging from 900 to 2,000 USDs for each house, where the houses belong to civilians from Afrin and its surroundings.

On the same context, “Al-Samrkand” faction, which controls Kafr Safra village in Jinderes district in Afrin countryside north western of Aleppo, took over nearly 2,000 olive trees and stole their crops through workshops, where nearly 300 workers are working in these workshops, which were established specifically for stealing and looting olive crops in Kafr Safra village. The trees belong to a civilian who displaced during the Turkish military operation in 2018.

Moreover, members of “Luwaa Al-Waqas” faction felled nearly 500 olive trees in Kafr Safra and Ashkan Sharky villages in Jinderes district in Afrin countryside, to sell them as heating wood.

It is worth noting that the Turkish-backed factions in Afrin city are still committing violations against civilians’ properties and taking over them by force and trade with them, in addition to imposing royalties. This comes as part of the pressure committed by Turkish-backed factions in Afrin.
