Hectic movement | Iranian-backed Syrian and non-Syrian militias bring in military reinforcements to Palmyra desert near Al-Tanaf base

Iranian-backed militias in Palmyra, near Al-Tanf base, are still moving around and changing their positions for fear of being targeted.

Yesterday, Iranian-backed militias of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities brought in military reinforcements, coming from the northern countryside of Homs to the military airport of T4.

The reinforcements, comprising nearly 120 fighters and military vehicles, headed towards and around the military airport of T4. The militiamen were distributed and stationed in hangars in the eastern countryside of Homs.

Moreover, groups of Iranian “Revolutionary Guard” militia were also stationed in Al-Abbasiya area, nearly 30 kilometres south to Palmyra after leaving military positions of the regime forces.

On September 25, Iranian-backed Al-Quds militia transported members and officers from Palmyra military airport towards Al-Abbasiyah area south of Palmyra, and the troops were stationed in several buildings and a hotel near sulfuric water spring, where militias are still changing the positions of their militiamen, for fear of Israeli attacks.

On September 29, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps militias and Lebanese “Hezbollah” transported, over the past two days, weapons and rockets from the south-western countryside of Homs to fortified positions near Palmyra city for fear of being targeted by Israel.

On September 3, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) militia transported weapons and rockets from its headquarters near Aures area in Homs province to fortified positions in Khattab village in Hama countryside, for fear of being targeted by Israel.
