Arbitrary arrests | Civil Police arrest four civilians in Jendires district in Afrin countryside

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of a civil police patrol carried out a campaign of arrests against the residents of Jendires district in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo.

The Civil Police arrested four civilians; three civilians from Jendires and a displaced man from Al-Hasakah for” dealing with the former “Autonomous-administration,” in order to collect ransoms. While the reasons for the arrest of the displaced man remain unknown.

On September 29, SOHR activists reported that members of a Military Police patrol arrested two residents of Deir Sawan village in Sharan district in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo during the past days for “dealing with the former “Autonomous Administration” in order to collect ransoms.

Meanwhile, Political Security personnel released a civilian from Afrin city after being forced to pay a ransom of 1,500 Turkish liras. The man had been arrested on charges of dealing with the former “Autonomous Administration.”
