Two IED explosions | ISIS cells target SDF military vehicle and cause explosion in Al-Jazara town

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that unidentified gunmen, likely to be ISIS cells, targeted a military vehicle carrying members and a commander of a regiment of SDF’s Deir Ezzor Military Council, with an IED explosion, in Al-Sor town in northern Deir Ezzor countryside causing three injuries, where two of them were members of the Deir Ezzor Military Council and the third one belonged to the Internal Security Forces “Al-Asayesh.”

On the same context, SOHR activists monitored an IED explosion in the market of “Al-Khadra” Sqaure in Al-Jazara town in western Deir Ezzor countryside, causing only material damages.

This comes in light of the ongoing security chaos in SDF-held areas.

SOHR has documented 144 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2022. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 113 persons dead: 39 civilians, including two women and a child, and 74 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.
