Anti-drug operation | SDF, backed by Coalition helicopters, arrests three drug dealers in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: “SDF” forces, backed by “International Coalition” helicopters, have carried out counter-drug operation in Deir Ezzor countryside.

According to SOHR activists, anti-crime forces of Internal Security Forces (Asayish) raided at Thursday dawn a number of houses in Mahimida and Al-Zughayir town, in western deir Ezzor countryside, with coverage and support by the International Coalition, arresting three drug promoters and traffickers. No casualties or material damage to civilians’ properties have been reported.

On September 28, SOHR activists reported that SDF brought construction and drilling machinery to Al-Shahil city, after a visit by some SDF commanders and a committee of customs in Deir Ezzor to explore the area a few days ago, aiming to establish a river commercial crossing to link between Euphrates river banks between Al-Shahil town, which is held by SDF, and Boqros town, which is held by regime forces.

The point separating the areas controlled by SDF and regime forces, on the bank of the Euphrates River, witnesses almost daily clashes, in light of smuggling operations in the area, where on September 29, SOHR activists reported that a military patrol of the Syrian Democratic Forces stormed the “Heart Hospital” (Mashfa Al-Qalb) crossing. , in Al-Janinah village in western Deir Ezzor countryside, within SDF-controlled area, where armed clashes erupted, and an exchange of fire broke out between SDF elements and smugglers on the right bank of the Euphrates River. However, no casualties were reported.

SOHR activists had reported that clashes with medium and heavy weapons erupted between the National Defence Militia and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at Al-Baghiliyah river crossing, while attempting to smuggle narcotics. No casualties were reported.
