US drone strike | ISIS member killed in Turkish-held areas in Al-Raqqah countryside

A man on a motorcycle in Hammam Al-Turkman area in areas held by Ankara-backed factions in Tel Abyad countryside, north of Al-Raqqah, was hit by a drone strike, believed to be of the International Coalition. The drone attack left the man dead.

According to SOHR initial reports, a man on the motorcycle that was hit by a drone strike is an ISIS member.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that US Central Command announced the deaths of two ISIS leaders in an airstrike in northern Syria on October 6 but, the US did not give precise identification of the location of the airstrike.

According to SOHR investigations, no one was killed in northern Syria at the time announced by the Americans, but two unidentified persons were killed in Jarablus area which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. The area was witnessing the exchange of shelling between SDF and National Army factions.

SOHR sources confirm that no one was killed there at that time, except the two dead men who had fake identities issued by local councils in areas held by rebels.

The US statement said, on October 6 around 6.32 pm local time in Syria, US forces launched a successful airstrike in northern Syria, killing Abu-Hashim Al-Umawi, a deputy wali (governor) of Syria, and another senior ISIS official associated with him.

Initial assessments by CENTCOM indicated that no civilians were wounded or killed during the operation.
