Deir Ezzor | Imam of mosque dies after receiving threats by I-S-I-S

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have documented the death of an imam of a mosque and the head of “Al-Tal’a” School, by unidentified gunmen likely to be ISIS members, in Al-Hajna village in northern Deir Ezzor countryside within SDF-held areas.

SOHR activists reported that ISIS members on a car attempted to assassinate an imam of a mosque in Al-Raqqah known by his initials as (M.K) at dawn prayers.

An ISIS member said the phrase “still exists and expands,” referring to “ISIS.”

The Imam was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

On October 15, SOHR activists reported that unidentified gunmen, likely to be ISIS members, fired an RPG shell at the house of an investor of oil wells in Zaiban town within SDF-held areas eastern of Deir Ezzor.

SOHR has documented 155 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2022. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 118 persons dead: 42 civilians, including two women and a child, and 76 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

It is worth noting that these attacks have not included the operation of Ghuwayran prison, which left heavy losses.
