Education crisis | Halt aids force five high schools to close in Idlib

Idlib province: SOHR activists have reported that five secondary schools in Idlib city closed because aids stopped and teaching staff unable to pursue the teaching process because they had not received salaries for several months.

According to SOHR activists, the schools that will be suspended after humanitarian organisation stopped the aids are:”Al-Mutanabi,” “Al-Thawra,” “Hussam Hijazi,” “Al-Orouba” and “Al-Ezz Bin Abdul Salam” schools.

Since early 200, dozens of schools in Idlib and Hama districts of “Salvation government” in Idlib declared a general strike and the closure of the school due to the poor conditions of teaching staff and for working as voluntary teachers for more than a year.

Most schools in northern Syria, particularly in Idlib and countryside, suffer from lack of aids and support provided by humanitarian organisations supporting education.
