28 Israeli attacks in 2022 | Violent explosions rock areas nearby Damascus airport and southern Rif Dimashq

SOHR sources have confirmed that at least four Israel missiles have hit areas around Damascus airport in the south-western Rif Dimashq, while loud explosions where heard in the area of Sayeda Zeinab and near Damascus airport. Meanwhile, regime air defences in Ma’raba area attempted to intercept the Israeli missiles. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

 

It is worth noting that this is the 28th attack by Israel since early 2022.

 

On October 24, SOHR sources reported that the Israeli airstrikes which targeted Syrian territory on Monday afternoon targeted an air defence battalion in Khirbet Al-Shayab area of Al-Kiswa in Rif Dimashq, and Dimas airport in Rif Dimashq which is directly run by Lebanese Hezbollah.

 

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the Israeli bombardment left an officer dead and three members of the regime’s air-defence injured and caused material damage to the targeted areas.

 

It is worth noting that this is the 27th attack by Israel that hit Syria since early 2022.

 

A day earlier, SOHR activists revealed new details about the recent Israeli attack that hit Syrian territory on October 21.

 

According to SOHR sources, military logistics and equipment used to assemble Iranian-made drones in Dimas military airport area in western Rif dimashq were destroyed after being directly targeted by Israeli missiles. A radar and airstrip were also targeted at the airport. However, no casualties were reported.

 

Three days earlier, Israeli missiles hit the area of Damascus International Airport, and an area near Damascus, where an air defence battery and equipment of the regime’s air force were targeted there.
