Israeli strikes | Four collaborators with Hezbollah ki*ll*ed and weapons depots destroyed in vicinity of Damascus International Airport

Since early 2022, Israel strikes hit Syrian territory 28 times, killing and injuring 137 combatants and destroying over 80 targets

SOHR sources have confirmed that the recent Israeli strikes that hit Syria in the early hours of Thursday targeted weapons and ammunition depots and Iranian-backed militia headquarters in the vicinity of the Damascus International Airport, a few kilometres away from the airport.

Israel has fired six airstrikes, including four airstrikes that hit weapons depots and positions of Iranian militia and Lebanese Hezbollah in Mazarea’ area west of Damascus airport, while the two airstrikes hit areas south-west of Damascus airport.

Two of the Israeli strikes were heard, causing violent explosions, while the other four strikes were less violent.

The 28th Israeli attack since early 2022 and the third in less than a week has left four collaborators with Lebanese Hezbollah, including at least one Syrian fighter, dead and led to the destruction of weapons and ammunition depots and material damage to Iranian-backed militias.

While the recent Israeli bombardment did not hit Damascus International Airport, operating normally, according to SOHR.

SOHR documented 28 airstrikes and ground rocket attacks since the beginning of 2022, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 81 targets, including buildings, warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 62 military personnel and injured 75 others, as well as injury of 23 civilians, including a little girl and at least three women.

The deaths were as follows:

• Two Iranian officers operating under the banner of Al-Quds Corps.

• Ten Iranian-backed Syrian fighters.

• 15 Iranian-backed fighters of non-Syrian nationality.

• 29 regime’s air defence officers and soldiers.

• Six collaborators with Lebanese Hezbollah.

• The head of “Customer Service and Air Cargo Department” and ground treatment director.

Meanwhile, the attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 17 attacks

• Al-Quneitera: Five attacks

• Hama: Three attacks

• Tartus: Two attacks

• Aleppo: Two attacks
