Security chaos | Local gunmen shot de*ad I*S*IS sharia official in Daraa countryside

Daraa province: The body of a “Jaiysh Khalid” sharia official who pledged allegiance to ISIS was found with gunshot wounds in southern Syria in Jassim city, north of Daraa.

According to SOHR sources, “Jaiysh Khalid” sharia official was executed by firing squad by local gunmen.

The dead man is from Al-Shajarah town and continued his activity with ISIS after striking a settlement deal with regime forces.

Since early 2022, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 457, which left 398 people dead; and they are as follows:

• 183 civilians, including four women and seven children.

• 157 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services, and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

• 33 former fighters who did not join any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

• 13 ex-ISIS members.

• Eight unidentified people.

• Four militiamen of the Russian-backed 5th Corps.
