117th joint patrol | Russian and Turkish forces tour Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) east of Aleppo

Aleppo province: Russian and Turkish forces conducted a new joint patrol in western countryside of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. This is the 117th patrol since a ceasefire deal reached by Turkey and Russia in north-eastern Syria.

The 116th patrol, consisting of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles, set off from “Gharib” village nearly 15 kilometres away from the east of Ain Al-Arab/Kobani, amid the flight by two Russian helicopters over the area.

The patrol toured villages in the eastern Ain Al-Arab countryside, then returned to Gharib village.

Turkish military vehicles entered from the gate near Gharib village, while Russian vehicles returned to their position near Sarin town, south of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani).

The joint patrols between Russian and Turkish forces in the Syrian border areas come as part of the Sochi agreement between Ankara and Moscow to monitor the area and ensure there are no SDF and heavy weapons in the area.

On October 24, SOHR activists reported that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a new joint patrol in western countryside of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. This is the 116th patrol since a ceasefire deal reached by Turkey and Russia in north-eastern Syria.

According to SOHR activists, the 116th patrol, consisting of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles, set off from “Ashma” village nearly 20 kilometres away from west of Ain Al-Arab/Kobani, amid the flight by two Russian helicopters over the area.

The joint patrol toured the villages of Jarqli Fawqani, Qaran, Dikmadash, Khorkhuri, Boban and Jul Bik reaching Tel Shair village, which is four kilometres away from west of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani).

The patrol toured other villages in the western Ain Al-Arab countryside before returning to Ashmah village.

Turkish military vehicles entered from a gate near Amsha village, while Russian military vehicles returned to their position near Sarin village, south of Ain Al-Arab.

On October 17, SOHR activists reported that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a new joint patrol in western countryside of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.

The patrol, comprising eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles, accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set off from Gharib village, 15 kilometres to the east of Kobani.

The joint patrol toured the villages of Karbnaf, Kusk, Aliyshar, Jum, Ali, Kortek, Kubak, Satan, Terry, Tel Hajib, and Kabajik Sagheer, then returned to Gharib village, while Russian vehicles returned to their position near Sarin town, south of Kobani.

According to SOHR activists, the patrol toured the villages of Jarqli Fawqani, Jabneh and Bayadiyah to Zor Maghar, then returned to Amsha village.

Turkish vehicles returned from the gate near Ashma village, and the Russian vehicles returned to their position near Sarin town, south of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani).
