Ongoing violations | National Army factions steal crop of nearly 3,000 olive trees in different areas in Afrin

Aleppo province: The residents of Afrin suffer from violations, thefts and imposition of levies by National Army factions that pursue a sestimatic policy to clamp down on civilians in order to force them to emigrate and leave their properties to the families of the factions.

In this context, SOHR activists have reported that members of National Army, including Al-Sultan Murad, Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah, Soqour Al-Shamal, and 112th brigade stole the crop of nearly 3,000 olive trees in the villages of Badanli, Zarka, Kayla, Qarqalaq, Ashunah and Bulbul district during the past few days.

Nearly 2,040 olive trees of the above-mentioned trees were stolen by the 112th Brigade, under the pretext that the olive trees’ owners live in areas controlled by “Kurdish forces” in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that members of Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction sold three houses with their furniture in Al-Ashrafieh neighbourhood of Afrin, just before the faction withdrew from Afrin. The three houses were sold for 4,500 USD. These houses were owned by three civilians from Raju and Sharan districts.

Meanwhile, the economic office of “Al-Sultan Murad” faction stole the olive crop of a civilian from Ashunah village in Bulbul district for “performing compulsory service during the control of former “Autonomous-Administration,” and seized 150 olive trees in Shaltah village in Afrin countryside, arguing that the tree owners lived in areas held by Autonomous Administration in Aleppo.

Moreover, Al-Sham Corps that control Muhammadli in Raju district seized by force of arms the crop of nearly 300 olive trees belonging to a woman from the village, on the pretext that he was entitled to them, despite the woman and her children live in the village.

Furthermore, Amshat faction, having taken control of some villages following the expulsion of Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction, imposed a levy of 40 % on the olive crop in the villages of Mustakah, Aranda, Tarmusha, Masarka, Raja, Mirkan and Shtaka, in the districts of Sheikh Al-Hadid and Maa’abatli in rural Afrin, north-west Aleppo.
