Protesting dire living conditions | Civilians block roads with burning tyres in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: Dozens of residents of Jadid Bakara village have gathered in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor to protest their dire living conditions, blocking roads with burning tyres. The protestors have demanded improving living and economic conditions that are burdening them.

On October 24, SOHR activists reported that dozens of residents of towns and villages in Hawaij Boumsma ‘a, Hawaij Dhiab, and Mahimida in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, in areas controlled by SDF took part in popular protests demanding improvement of living and service conditions. The protestors blocked roads with burning tyres.

On October 21, SOHR activists reported public protests in the SDF-controlled villages of Al-Hamish, Al-Hesan, and Jazarat Abu Shams in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, during which the demonstrators protested the poor living conditions and called for decreasing fuel prices.
