Anti-smuggling campaign | SDF units burn three smugglers’ fuel tankers in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: Today, security units of SDF have raided river crossings in Al-Basirah city, east of Deir Ezzor, burning three oil-filled tanks intended for smuggling into areas controlled by the regime.

On October 29, SOHR activists reported that two people were seriously injured when a SDF patrol targeted a truck loaded with fuel that was intended for smuggling near the river crossing in Shanan town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside in areas controlled by SDF.

On October 9, SOHR sources reported that an SDF patrol of “commandos” Division removed a pipe used for smuggling between the two banks of the Euphrates river.

It is worth noting that the pipeline was used by fuel smugglers in Mahimidyah, west of Deir Ezzor, to smuggle fuel to areas controlled by the regime forces and their proxy militias on the other bank of the Euphrates river.

While on October 5, SOHR activists reported that clashes with heavy machine guns erupted on both banks of the Euphrates river, west of Deir Ezzor, on Tuesday night, between “SDF” members in Al-Saa’wah town on the one hand and regime forces and their proxy militiamen in Al-Shumaytiyah town on the other hand due to a dispute over fuel smuggling.

Meanwhile, a SDF patrol raided Al-Geneinah crossing in Deir Ezzor countryside and clashed with members of National Defence stationed at checkpoints and members of 4th Division stationed near Furat Al-Sham Hotel. However, no casualties were reported.
