Daraa | Local factions fire heavy weapons on IS*IS members, bringing dea*th toll to 16

Daraa province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a media activist from his wounds he sustained days earlier in clashes in Daraa.

A member of the group accused of belonging to ISIS was also killed in clashes and shelling in Daraa.

Areas where ISIS members in the city are witnessing bombardment by local factions, 8th Brigade and military formations with anti-aircraft and tank shells in Tariq Al-Sadd neighbourhood and Al-Hamadin neighbourhood.

Accordingly, the death toll from Daraa clashes in Daraa since Monday, October 31 has jumped to 16, and they are as follows:

• Four civilians, including two children and a media activist.

• Seven ISIS members.

• Four members of local factions, including a leader.

• A member of the 8th Brigade.

This morning, SOHR activists reported shelling by the tank of regime forces. The shelling was fired from the square of local centres and factions, targeting buildings in Mohandessin neighbourhood, inside which persons accused of belonging to ISIS are holed up. No casualties were reported.

This came hours after the end of the temporary truce declared by local factions yesterday.

Yesterday, local factions in Daraa extended the temporary truce, so that civilians could leave for safer areas, until Friday evening.

This decision followed yesterday’s meeting that was held between dignitaries from Daraa and local factions to discuss the ways of ending the ongoing fighting and clashes in Daraa.

Syrian Observatory sources also reported that local factions will resume anti-ISIS operation after the truce deadline expires.
