SOHR: 26 Killed, Injured In Government Shelling Of Idlib

Six people, including two children and a woman, lost their lives on Sunday morning due to missile strike conducted by Syrian government forces on areas west of Idlib Governorate in northwest Syria.

The Syrian government forces targeted Maram IDP camp and village of Kafr Jales of Maarat Misrin district in Idlib with more than 30 missiles, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

The missile strike injured 20 other people.

The strike coincided with four air raids by Russian warplanes on a forest west of the city of Idlib, with reports on casualties.

On Saturday, the government forces fired artillery shells and missiles at villages of Zawiya Mountain in the south of Idlib.

Although the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria is subject to a Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement signed in March 2020, the area witnesses frequent mutual bombardment despite the entry of the ceasefire into force.
