Arbitrary arrests | Civil police arrest three civilians from Afrin in northern Aleppo countryside to collect ransoms

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of a civil police patrol arrested two residents of Jendires district in Afrin countryside, one for ” working in komin sector during the former “Autonomous Administration’s control over Afrin”, and the other on charges of performing “compulsory service” during “Autonomous Administration” control over Afrin city, in order to collect ransoms.

Other members of a civil police patrol have arrested a civilian in Amara in the Maabatli district for unknown charges, demanding that his family pay a ransom for his release.

On October 31, SOHR activists reported that During the past few days, members of a patrol of the General Security Service of Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham arrested four civilians from Kafr Mazzah in Sharan district of Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo. Two men were arrested for “dealing with Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction,” while the charge against the others remained unknown.

On Sunday, members of Al-Hamza faction kidnapped a civilian from Afrin and took him to Basuta village in Shirawa district in order to collect a ransom from his family.
