Felling olive trees and looting harvest | Ongoing violations by Turkish-backed factions against residents of Afrin

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of “Suqor Al-Shamal” faction looted the product of 35 olive trees in Qastal Makdad village in Bulbul district. The trees belonged to a civilian displaced from the village.

Moreover, members of the same faction felled 40 olive trees in Zaara village in Bulbul district. The trees belonged to a civilian displaced from the same village.

On the same context, members of “Al-Sultan Murad” faction looted the product of nearly 80 olive trees in Deir Sowan village in Shiran district. The trees belonged to the mayor of the village.

Moreover, a member of the “National Army” from Hama city sold a house in Afrin Al-Jadida neighbourhood near Dirsam hospital for 2,000 USDs. The house belonged to a civilian displaced from Juwaik village in Afrin countryside.

On November 5, SOHR activists reported that members of Al-Hamza faction stole and harvested the crop of nearly 100 olive trees in Korka village in Maabatli district. The owner of these trees did not file a lawsuit against the faction members, fearing that the faction would fabricate a charge against him and arrest him for “dealing with the Autonomous-Administration.”
