Tragic circumstances | One victim from Lattakia and others from Kobani die near Algeria

In a statement to SOHR, the representative of the Autonomous Administration in Lebanon “Abd Al-Salam Ahmed” said that the bodies of ten Syrian refugees from Kobani city have reached Rafik Al-Hariry Airport in Beirut coming from Algeria, after they drowned.

Ahmed explained that the human smugglers shifted their focus to Algeria as the station to start towards Europe, for those who seek migration.

He added that the bodies are being moved from Algeria, passing through Doha, and are going to be deported during the next few days.

The Lebanese Red Crescent moved the victims to the point of borders with Syria in Al-Arida area, and handed them to the Syrian Red Crescent, which would in turn hand them to the Kurdish Red Crescent.

Moreover, one of the victims hail from Lattakia, and the rest are from Kobani.

Regarding SOHR’s question about the expected actions by the Autonomous Administration, he answered: “There are no actions currently, we are waiting for the official procedures to end.”
