“Precautionary measures” | Iranian-backed militias redeploy militiamen and commanders in T-3 following Al-Bokamal attacks

Reliable SOHR sources have reported that Iranian-backed militias have recently changed their positions following the latest strikes on positions in Al-Bokamal, on the border strip between Syria and Iraq nearly 48 hours ago.

Several Iranian-backed members and commanders have arrived in T-3 station, to the east of Palmyra city from Al-Bokamal and Deir Ezzor cities.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that Al-Bo Kamal crossing on borders with Iraq starting operating again after being closed, following an attack by unidentified drone on a convoy of Iranian militias at Syrian-Iraqi borders in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

The Iranian militias use the crossings, those which are legal and non-legal, on borders with Iraq to transport their members and weapons to Syrian territory.

A day earlier, unidentified aircraft targeted the Syria-Iraq border in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where trucks loaded with weapons and oil tanks of Iranian-backed militias in the customs square in Al-Hari and the military gate in Al-Bokamal countryside, east of Deir Ezzor were targeted.

Airstrikes also hit a military site of Iranian-backed militias near the area, leaving heavy casualties, as 14 people had been confirmed dead so far, mostly Iranian-backed militiamen.

The death toll was believed to rise because of some seriously injured, amid reports on other deaths.

The attack also caused heavy material losses, as airstrikes hit trucks loaded with arms and fuel tankers.
