Tribal fighting | Man and woman injured in SDF-held areas in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: A fight has broken out between Al-Ghadhban and Al-Kassar tribes at Al-Basirah city market, east of Deir Ezzor.

According to SOHR, the fight occurred due to old disagreements between them, which developed into the use of weapons. The fight has left two people injured, including a woman, and led to the closure of some shops and (stalls) in the market amid panic among people and calls for dignitaries and elders to end the conflict.

On October 27, SOHR sources reported that a child and woman sustained serious injuries in indiscriminate gunfire during tribal infighting over an earlier retaliation in the SDF-controlled town of Gharanij in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Meanwhile, tension is growing in the area, amid ongoing clashes.

Accordingly, the number of casualties left by this infighting so far has jumped to four, as two civilians were killed, while a woman and a child were injured.

Also, SOHR sources reported that two people were killed when tribal clashes renewed between cousins over an old vendetta in Ghranij town, east of Deir Ezzor.

The residents of Ghranij town appealed to dignitaries to intervene to resolve the dispute between the two families.

This came in light of the rampant security chaos and proliferation of arms in SDF-held areas.
