Military escalation | Fire burns Turkish base in Sharan district, and Turkish forces respond by shelling villages in northern Aleppo countryside

Aleppo province: Plumes of smoke rose Turkish military base on the outskirts of Marimin village in Sharan district in Afrin countryside, north of Aleppoas artillery and rocket fire hit the base this morning, after being fired from areas where Kurdish and the Syrian regime forces were deployed in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

Turkish forces have responded by shelling Al-Shawarghah and Qal’at Al-Shawarghah in Sharan and Al-Sha’ala districts in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. No further details have been reported about the number of casualties and material damages caused by the exchange of shelling.

A few hours ago, Turkish forces stationed in Hazwan village in Al-Bab countryside, east of Aleppo fired heavy artillery shells, targeting areas where Kurdish and regime forces were deployed in northern Aleppo countryside.

This bombardment came in response to rocket and artillery shells fired from areas hosting regime and Kurdish forces in Aleppo countryside on the perimeter of Turkish base in Al-Kfir village in Al-Bab countryside. No further details were reported about the number of casualties and material damages.
