Without supervision | “National Army” factions rob olive harvest and fell trees in Afrin

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of Suqor Al-Shamal faction stole nearly ten plates of olive oil by force from a woman from Qazlabash village in Bulbul district, under the pretext of protecting agricultural crops from theft.

Moreover, members of Al-Hamza Division faction stole a car of a civilian displaced from Aleppo city and he was taken to Kafr Shail village in Afrin countryside, while the civilian issued official complaints against the faction. However, he could not retrieve his car.

On the same context, members of “Al-Sultan Murad” felled nearly 150 olive trees in Kotana village in Bulbul district in Afrin countryside and sold them in Afrin city as heating logs, where the trees belong to a civilian from the village. Moreover, members of “Al-Montasser Billah” faction took over nearly 250 olive trees after looting olive harvest, and felled nearly 70 olive trees and sold them as heating logs in Rajo district in Afrin countryside.

On Novermber 13, members of Al-Sultan Murad faction cut down nearly 70 olive trees in Midanki village in Sharan district of Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo province to sell them as fire logs in markets.

Moreover, members of Al-Sham corps faction in Naza village in Sharan district in Afrin countryside stole nearly 175 olive trees owned by civilians from Naza village.

Although theft and harvesting of the olive crop are still going, people could not file any lawsuit against the faction for fear of arrest.
