Ongoing violations | Turkish intelligence arbitrary arrests civilians, while Ankara-backed factions beat civilians

Aleppo province: A joint patrol of Turkish military police and intelligence arrested two civilians from Karmouk village in Maabatli district in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo province, on November 14, for unknown charges against them.

Meanwhile, members of Al-Hamza faction severely beat a resident of Kafr Shil in Afrin countryside with iron bars, resulting in fractures and wounds. The civilian was taken to hospital for treatment, following the expulsion of robbers affiliated with Al-Hamza Division from a pomegranate field on the outskirts of the village.

Yesterday, members of Jaiysh Al-Sharqiyyah faction led by a man from Deir Ezzor city and known by his initials as A. A. Kh. beat the head of Hajj Iskandar village in Jendires district, in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo on November 12 as the head of the village refused to pay levies to Jaiysh Al-Sharqiyyah members.

According to SOHR sources, two members of Jaiysh Al-Sharqiyyah faction stormed the head of the village’s house, stealing a number of olive tankers, and then severely beating him. The head of the village was taken to hospital for treatment.
