IS*IS attack | Regime soldier ki-lled and two officers, including colonel, injured in Al-Sabkha desert in rural Al-Raqqah

Gunmen, believed to be ISIS members, intercepted a procession of officers and members of the regime forces in Al-Sabkha desert in eastern Al-Raqqah countryside.

Armed clashes have erupted between gunmen and regime forces. In these clashes, a regime soldier was killed and a colonel and one lieutenant colonel, the head of the military security detachment in Al-Sabkha area, were injured. The injured officers have been transferred to the hospital for treatment.

On November 8, reliable sources informed SOHR that regime forces in Al-Kiswa area in western Rif Dimashq pay bribes to their officer, with the aim of not sending in anti-ISIS combing campaigns in Syrian desert, as winter begins, fog and winds spread in the desert.

Regime soldiers fear ambushes and attacks waged by ISIS against regime forces and their proxy militias in the Syrian desert, especially in the winter, due to weather conditions.
