SOHR activists have reported a spike in the number of fatalities of the heavy airstrikes by Turkish fighter jets in the past few hours on areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES). According to Observatory sources, eight SDF fighters and affiliated workers and six regime soldiers were killed, while the number of fatalities is expected to rise further, as the attack left at least 30 members of SDF and regime forces injured, some seriously, amid unconfirmed reports of more fatalities.

The fatalities of the latest Turkish airstrikes on SDF-controlled areas can be distributed as follows:

-SDF: nine fatalities:

  • Seven were killed in Jabal Qarrah area in Al-Malikiyah countryside (Dayrek) in Al-Hasakah province.

  • Two were killed in Zahr Al-Arab village in the western countryside of Al-Darbasiyah in Al-Hasakah province.

-Regime forces: six fatalities:

  • Four were killed in strikes on a post of regime border guards in Um Harmal village in Abu Rasin countryside in north-western Al-Hasakah.

  • Two were killed in strikes on a military post in Qaz’ali village in Tel Abyad countryside in northern Al-Raqqah.

The Turkish airstrikes also targeted the area of Jabal Mashtanour, Al-Hursh Al-Hokomi, the surrounding areas of Alishar village in Ain Al-Arab city (Kobani), Al-Baylouniyah, Mar’anaz and Ain Daqnah in the northern countryside of Aleppo. In addition, a Turkish airstrike targeted a regime post nearby Tel Rifaat district.

It is worth noting that Turkish fighter jets targeted those areas with over 25 airstrikes last night.
