Turkish dramatic escalation | Turkish aircraft targets area at Al-Hasakah-Al-Raqqah-Deir Ezzor triangle

After Tuesday afternoon, Turkish warplanes targeted an area on Abyad road at the administrative border between Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah, a few kilometres away from Deir Ezzor province, killing one member of the SDF’s commandos and injuring another member.

Meanwhile, a Turkish drone hit Auja village in Tel Tamr countryside, north-west of Al-Hasakah, injuring two SDF fighters.

Accordingly, the number of Turkish aerial bombardments has risen to four attacks during the third day of Turkish military escalation in Syria.

 

In the afternoon, A Turkish drone targeted two new areas in SDF-held areas. According to SOHR activists, a Turkish drone hit two areas in south of Al-Odah oil field and an area near Lilan village, south-west of Al-Qahtaniyah north-east of Al-Al-Hasakah. The plumes of smoke rose from the two areas. This attack caused serious material damage to the target area.

This morning, a Turkish drone hit a joint military base of the “International Coalition” and Counter-terrorism units in Asthah Al-Wazir area, north of Al-Hasakah city.

According to initial information, the attack left two fighters of anti-terrorism units dead and three others critically injured.

It is worth noting that from this base, patrols set off to carry out operations against ISIS.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that a Turkish drone attacked a military vehicle in an area which is located tens of metres away from the Russian base in Tel Tamr in north-western Al-Hasakah. The attack caused material damage only.

 

This is the second attack in hours, where a Turkish drone executed four airstrikes on two glider airfields in the western countryside of Amuda, north of Al-Hasakah province.

 

Accordingly, the number of attacks carried out by Turkish drones on areas controlled by the “Autonomous Administration in northern and north-eastern Syria, AANES” since early 2022 has reached 71. These attacks left 11 civilians, including a female leader in the Autonomous Administration and seven children, and 69 combatants, including two children and 13 females, dead, while over 114 others sustained various injuries.
