Condemning Turkish attacks | Mass demonstration in Al-Derbasiyah north of Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: Many civilians in the border city of Al-Darbasiyah in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah have participated in a mass demonstration to denounce the Turkish attacks and to demand that the international community and the Russians protect the residents of the area from Turkish airstrikes and stop the destruction of infrastructure and oil and gas facilities in north-eastern Syria.

The protesters also stressed that they stood by the SDF in the face of Turkish military operation.

On November 20, SOHR sources reported several demonstrations in areas in north-east Syria, where the protesters condemned the Turkish airstrikes which were conducted a night earlier on several areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo, Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah countryside.

The protesters also denounced the “shameful” silence and inaction by the international community regarding the Turkish attacks on Syrian territory and their strikes on populated areas, which pose a considerable threat to their safety and lives and trigger a new mass exodus.

According to SOHR sources, hundreds of civilians in Al-Hasakah city participated in a popular protest, calling on the international community to interfere and put an end to the “Turkish aggression” on Syrian territory, protect civilians and stop the Turkish strikes and bombardment immediately. The demonstration set off from the square of Al-Sinalko roundabout to Al-Hamamah roundabout, where many civilians, civil activists and members of local councils participated in the demonstration.

Since November 19 evening, Turkey has escalated their aerial bombardment till now; Turkish drones have executed 50 airstrikes, targeting vehicles, positions, and areas in Aleppo, Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah. Turkish airstrikes left 45 people dead, and 34 others injured.
