Alarming rate of child abandonment | Deir Hassan residents find Newborn baby’s body

Idlib province: The residents have found the body of a newborn baby, who died several days ago in Deir Hassan area north of Idlib, where the body was buried at Deir Hassan cemetery on Monday evening.

This comes in light of the growing phenomenon of child abandonment across Syria due to illegal relationships and many other reasons.

On November 19, SOHR activists reported that civilians found the body of a newborn baby in agricultural land on the road linking Zardana and Ram Hamdan eastern Idlib, where the body was moved to the forensic medicine department in Idlib.

On July 18, SOHR activists reported that residents found the body of a newborn baby inside a black bag dumped in Al-Zayton (Olive) lands northern of Kally town in HTS areas in northern Idlib countryside.

On March 22, SOHR activists obtained a videotape showing two people on their motorbike dumping a newborn baby in front of the gate of Al-Kabir Mosque in Al-Atarib city in western Aleppo countryside.

Reliable SOHR sources confirmed that the security services of HTS managed to establish their identities.
