After two years of being arrested | Young man di-es under torture in infamous Saidaniyah prison

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that a 23 year-old young man from Al-Mazirib town in western Daraa countryside, died under brutal torture in the regime’s infamous “Saidaniyah” prison, after being arrested for nearly two years.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the young man is a civilian and does not belong to any military side, where he was arrested on September 2020 at a regime checkpoint. The young man’s body has not been handed to his family.

Accordingly, the number of civilians who died under torture in regime prisons which has been documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights since the beginning of 2022 has risen to 97 including two dissident army officers and 38 people from Eastern Ghouta whose death certificates were delivered by regime to their families in February.
