Amid acute shortage of heating materials | 70 families struggle with tragic situation in Al-Salman camp in western Deir Ezzor

Al-Salman refugee camp, which is located near Hawayij Bomas’a in SDF-controlled areas in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, accommodates nearly 70 Syrian families, mostly have been displaced from villages and towns which have been captured by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias in Deir Ezzor.

 

Speaking to SOHR, a 60-year old displaced man known as Haj Hassan from Ayyash village in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, near Al-Hajif hill and warehouses where the Iranian-backed Afghan “Liwaa Fatemiyoun” are stationed, says that he has lived in Al-Salman camp since 2017, when regime forces regained the control of Ayyash village. The man has added that he and his family are struggling with tragic situation, because their tents have become very worn and they have not received diesel allowances so far.

 

Another 55-year-old woman known as Um Naser has told SOHR that children in the camp have become more venerable to have diseases because of the poor healthcare, while most of the children have suffering from flu because of the cold weather.

 

The camp’s inhabitants have appealed to relevant authorities and international organisations operating in the area to provide urgent aid and appropriate healthcare.
