Affected by wounds | SDF members shoot smuggler dead in security operation in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that a smuggler died affected by the wounds he sustained this morning in clashes between him and SDF members in Al-Shahil town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside within SDF-held areas, after the smuggler refused to surrender himself in a security operation on his house.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that SDF-backed security units stormed, this dawn, the house of a man known by his initials as A. R. in Al-Shuhayl city in eastern Deir Ezzor and clashed with him, after refusing to surrender. The man, who works as a smuggler and runs a crossing used for smuggling goods and people, was arrested and taken to an SDF security centre.

It is worth noting that this region witnessed frequent clashes between smugglers and SDF-backed services.
