Two separate attacks | Elder of town among two people ki*lled and ex-fighter injured in Daraa countryside

Daraa province: SOHR sources have reported that two people, including the elder of Al-Taybah town in the eastern countryside of Daraa, as they have been shot dead by unknown gunmen on the “military road.”

 

Separately, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a man in Beit Ara village in western Daraa, injuring him, and he was taken to hospital. The targeted man had been a fighter in the ranks of Jaysh Khaled Ibn Al-Waleed which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” organisation, before regime forces regained control of Daraa province.

 

Since early 2022, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 495, which left 462 people dead; and they are as follows:

 

  • 211 civilians, including five women and 11 children.

 

  • 164 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

 

  • 43 former fighters who did not join any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

 

  • 30 ex-ISIS member and members accused of “belonging to ISIS cells.”

 

  • Nine unidentified people.

 

  • Five militiamen of the Russian-backed 5th
