Demanding releasing detainees | Members of local factions block roads in Jassim city in Daraa

Daraa province: Members of local factions from Jassim town in northern Daraa countryside have blocked the road between Jassim city and Nimr town, Alya-Quneitra road and Inkhil-Jassim road.

The militiamen have blocked the roads to express their anger over not releasing the detainees of Horan.

The protesters warned “Luay Al-Ali,” head of the Military Intelligence Branch in Daraa, that they will escalate the protests if all of Horan’s sons were not released from detention, while the road has been reopened.

This comes in light of ongoing arbitrary arrests of civilians by regime for non-explicit charges against them.

On November 29, SOHR activists reported that members of a checkpoint of the “Military Security” branch arrested seven civilians of “Al-Madalja” tribe from Al-Lojaa area, between Al-Bokaa neighbourhood and Ezrae city in eastern Daraa countryside, without knowing the reasons behind their arrest.

On November 28, a young man from Khirab Al-Shahm in Daraa province was arrested by “military security” members stationed at a checkpoint on Al-Dahiya road for unknown charges. The man was taken to a detention centre, while his fate remained unknown.
