Alarming calm | Turkish forces shell several villages in SDF-held areas

Alarming calm has been witnessed in SDF-held areas in NE Syria, following the escalation of Turkish ground and aerial military activity on these areas. On the same context, SOHR activists monitored aerial and ground shelling on SDF-held areas, which Turkey keeps targeting intermittently.

In Al-Hasakah, Turkish forces and their proxies fired heavy artillery shells on SDF military positions in Tel Tawel village in Tel Tamr countryside northern of Al-Hasakah. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

In Al-Raqqa, Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on four village in northern Al-Raqqa countryside, where shells hit Abdoky, Kobarlak, Qazaaly and Fiyonta villages in Ain Eissa countryside northern of Al-Raqqa. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

On the same context, a Turkish drone targeted a military vehicle of the military regiment of SDF in Al-Shaikh Sonjok village in Amoda countryside northern of Al-Hasakah, leaving two killed including an SDF commander and a driver.

This comes after the escalation of Turkish aerial and ground military activity on SDF-held areas targeting institutions and infrastructure in the region.
