Demanding to repair damages | Residents of Al-Sad raod and Hamadin start protests in Daraa

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that dozens of residenst of Al-Sad road and Hamadin in Daraa started protests denouncing the work of the city’s institutions and facilities, and them not interfering to repair the damages due to the previous battles that took place in the region, where dozens of residential houses, water stations and electricity stations were damaged significantly, causing these stations to go out of service.

The protestors raised banners that read “where are the officials of institutions and facilities, no one entered our neighbourhoods” and “Residents of shelled neighbourhoods demand consideration of their situations”, expressing the anger of the residents due to the neglection of the concerned authorities and demand them to provide services, following the clashes that erupted in the city between local factions and ISIS cells.

On November 14, Daraa had seen fighting between local factions and military formations, on the one hand, and members accused of “belonging to ISIS” on the other hand.

Clashes erupted and go on between residential neighbourhoods, leaving civilian deaths in 15 days-fighting, punctuated by a temporary truce, for nearly 48 hours, to ensure the safe departure of the largest number of civilians from the area.
