Ongoing siege by 4th Division | Life nearly paralyzed in Al-Shaikh Maksoud and Al-Ashrafiyah neighbourhoods in Aleppo
Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that the regime-backed 4th Division forces are still imposing siege on Al-Ashrafiyah and Al-Shaikh Maksoud neighbourhoods and Al-Shuhabaa areas in northern Aleppo countryside by preventing the entry of fuels to the area for the second consecutive month, making it likely for a crisis to take place.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the area has run out of diesel and gasoline following the siege of the 4th Division, causing consequences to most life aspects, where most schools in Al-Shuhabaa areas in northern Aleppo countryside were suspended amid appeals by the residents to find an immediate solution and to lift the siege off the area, after the fate of their children became threatened.
Moreover, most workshops, service centres and transportations were suspended in villages of Al-Shuhabaa areas, and work in most service institutions in the area was suspended, putting the economy of the area under risk, in light of the harsh conditions in the region.
According to local sources in the region, life nearly stopped in the region after power was cut off the area, confirming that the bakeries will be suspended as well in case the siege remains, appealing to the concerned authorities to work on lifting the siege off the region.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that the Internal Security Forces “Al-Asayesh” gave a period of 48 hours to the regime forces to lift the siege over neighbourhoods of Kurdish forces in Aleppo city “Al-Shaikh Maksoud” and “Al-Ashrafiyah”, and displaced people in northern Aleppo countryside, or else “Al-Asayesh” would impose siege on the security centres that belong to regime forces in Al-Hasakah and Damascus.
Residents of “Al-Shaikh Maksoud” and “Al-Ashrafiyah” neighbourhoods in Aleppo suffered harsh living conditions and several crises including the complete cut of power, because generators stopped operating.
