According to reliable SOHR sources, the infighting caused a state of panic among civilians, amid appeals by residents to the dignitaries of the region to interfere to spare the bloodshed and calm the tension among the brothers.

The clashes broke out between members of Turkish-backed “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” faction of Al-Siyad tribe and armed members of Al-Qaraan tribe which is backed by Al-Hamza faction due to a dispute over the smuggling of a group of people into Turkey.
