Ongoing security chaos | Armed robberies take place and gangs blackmail residents

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that members of an armed group of bandits intercepted an agricultural vehicle carrying eight people and looted their possessions of money and the car within an area at the road between Akraba and Mashara in northern Daraa countryside, before the armed group fled to an unknown destination.

On the same context, an armed group in Da’il city in the middle countryside of Daraa forced many store owners to pay ransoms by force, under the pretext of protecting the city from robberies. Moreover, the group is accused of “drug dealing and promoting in the city.”

SOHR activists reported that an armed gang kidnapped a 15 years old child from Al-Shaikh Maskin city in Daraa countryside, where the gang members contacted the family of the child demanding 25,000,000 Syrian Liras, amid appeals by his family to reveal the fate of their kidnapped child.
