Armed attack | Unknown gunmen open fire on vehicle of political security branch in western Daraa

Daraa province: SOHR sources have reported that unknown gunmen opened fire on a car, “Hilux” make, affiliated to the political security branch near Sheikh Saad village in western Daraa. However, no casualties or material damage have been reported.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that unidentified persons threw a grenade at the home of a civilian who did not belong to any military or security party, in Tsil town, west of Daraa, leaving no casualties.

 

Meanwhile, unidentified persons opened fire at a military checkpoint of the regime forces in Al-Bahar neighbourhood and the post office building in Daraa Al-Balad. No casualties were reported.

 

Since early 2022, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 499, which left 464 people dead; and they are as follows:

 

  • 212 civilians, including six women and 11 children.

 

  • 164 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

 

  • 43 former fighters who did not join any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

 

  • 31 ex-ISIS member and members accused of “belonging to ISIS cells.”

 

  • Nine unidentified people.

 

  • Five militiamen of the Russian-backed 5th
