Stifling fuel crisis | Means of transportation halt completely in regime-controlled areas

Daily activity in regime-controlled areas has been paralyzed almost completely in light of the acute shortage of fuels on local markets and their high prices on black markets, which reached an unprecedented level unaffordable by the many.

On the weekend, SOHR activists monitored empty streets in regime-controlled areas, unlike earlier times, where Syrians had gone for picnics on weekends. Meanwhile, local pages posted pictures today, Friday, showing streets empty of vehicles.

The worsening fuel crisis has led to successive crises manifested in the sky rocketing prices, stockpiling basic products, increasing ration hours and interruption of water and communication services.

On the other hand, Syrian civilians started to feel fed up with the recent situation, as they have failed to reach their work because of the halt of transportation.

Meanwhile, pictures have been posts on social media showing civilians, including students, stacking in buses and trucks to reach their work and schools, while parks are seen crowded with passengers with no vehicles available to transport them to their destinations.
