Ongoing violation | “Al-Sultan Murad” severely be*ats media activist And “Ahrar Al Sharqiyyah” kid*naps civilian in Afrin city

Aleppo province: Yesterday, members of Al-Sultan Murad faction severely beat a media activist in Afrin, leaving him fainted due to the brutal beatings and torture as the media engaged in a fight between an employee of the exchange office and one of Al-Sultan Murad members. The man was transferred to the military hospital for treatment, and then was released after his health improved.

Also, yesterday, members of Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah faction kidnapped a civilian in Al-Ashrafieh neighbourhood in Afrin, north of Aleppo after the man refused to give cigarette packs for free to members of the faction. The man was taken to an unknown destination.

It is worth noting that Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah members were formerly operating under the banner of Jayish Al-Islam faction, then they defected from the faction after the takeover of Afrin by Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham and their proxy factions after the expulsion of Jaish Al-Islam and Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah from Afrin.

On December 8, SOHR activists reported that members of a Political Security Service patrol arrested a resident of Janjalia village in Raju district at his place of work in Afrin city for unknown charges.
