Two explosions in Al-Suwaydaa | Activists call for peaceful demonstrations in Al-Karama Square

Al-Suwaydaa province: SOHR activists have reported that two consecutive explosions were heard in Al-Suwaydaa province, where unidentified people in a “Kia Rio” car threw two grenades in the area between the Police administration and the province, followed by shooting from guards in the region, where the unidentified people fled to an unknown destination. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

This coincided with the renewal of calls by activists for peaceful demonstrations against the Syrian regime in Al-Karama Square on Monday.

Earlier today, dozens of civilians went out to Al-Seer Square in Al-Suwaydaa to express their dissatisfaction with the dire living conditions in Al-Suwaydaa.
According to SOHR activists, dozens of civilians protested the fuel crisis, which led to a lack of transportation and poor living, service and security conditions in Al-Suwaydaa city.
The protestors emphasised the peacefulness and continuity of the protests until their demands are met.
The protestors called on all Syrians in all provinces to protest, amid an intensive deployment of security forces in the area. Meanwhile, some civilians refrained from participating in the protest for fear of the crackdown of security services and bloodshed.
On December 4, Al-Suwaydaa had seen significant security tension, after protesters attacked the government Al-Saraya building with stones, while some young men stormed it and tore up the picture of Bashar Al-Assad, demanding the overthrow of the regime.
Protesters burned a security vehicle, damaging other cars, after security forces stormed a crowd of demonstrators and fired bullets to disperse protesters in Al-Suwaydaa city.
